Winter Dairy Barn Wedding | Fort Mill SC | Tarah & Jake

The Dairy Barn is one of my favorite places to shoot in winter. Bare trees, a frozen lake, horses roaming in the background, and Christmas wreaths all over the barn make it perfect for a winter wedding! Before we headed there for photos, Tarah got dressed at their ceremony location - St. Phillip's in Fort Mill. One of my favorite details was a piece of her grandma's clothing sewn into her dress. Jake headed over to Lake Hagler at Anne Springs and once Tarah arrived they had an adorable first look. We then headed up to the Dairy Barn for more photos. Since this was a winter wedding and the sun sets early, the first look allowed us to take all their photos before the ceremony. Tarah and Jake were still emotional for the ceremony and we got stunning photos before it got too dark! After the ceremony at the church, we headed back to the Dairy Barn for food and dancing at the reception. Congratulations on a beautiful wedding day, Jake and Tarah!

Laboratory Mill Wedding | Lincolnton NC | Adelaide & Stephen

Adelaide and Stephen were one of my last weddings for 2017 and they were an adorable way to end it! (Fun side note: I got to shoot Adelaide's cousin's wedding last month!) It was a chilly but beautiful day at The Laboratory Mill where they held their ceremony and reception. Two of my favorite details from their day, Adelaide told me about while she was getting ready. Adelaide's father passed away and inside her dress was a heart sewn in from one his shirts. Along with this, she wore a family ring that she always loved and her mom had earrings and a necklace made to match it. Stephen got ready in the adjoining room and then we set everyone up for the first look. Stephen and Adelaide first read letters from each other and then had a special moment just the two of them. Their joy was radiating throughout the day! After the sun went down, their ceremony took place inside the warmth of the venue. Since we took all their photos beforehand, they got to enter right into the reception not long after the ceremony. After having a first dance, Adelaide danced with her family and Stephen danced with his mom. Throughout the whole day, you could tell Adelaide and Stephen enjoyed spending this special time with family and friends. Thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Separk Mansion Wedding | Gastonia NC | Scott & Emily

I met Scott & Emily through my husband, Joe. He and Scott worked together for awhile and all four of us met up together for the first time at one of Scott's hockey games. It's been great getting to know them better the last two years and I was so honored that they chose me to capture their wedding day! Emily got ready with her close friends at her parent's home while the guys got ready at Emily and Scott's house. Their dog Stanley was staying at Emily's parent's home too so we got a few photos of them together! Emily put her dress and final touches on at their ceremony site which was Saint Mark's Catholic Church. Isn't her dress so classic and pretty? It reminds me of Audrey Hepburn! After the ceremony, we drove over to their reception at Separk Mansion. I love the natural light and historical features of this venue! Emily chose greens and cranberry for her decor and they were a lovely addition to this beautiful reception space. Some of my favorite details they incorporated were personalized terrible towels, homemade cookies for guests to take home (including hockey themed ones), and a "flat Stanley" (a photo of their dog for their guests to take pictures with since he wasn't at the wedding)! Everyone had a great time dining and dancing to a live band and then the happy couple were chauffeured away in a vintage car. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Black!
