Rachel & James | Stony Point, NC

Fall weddings have to be some of my favorites to shoot. The fall colors and crisp autumn air make for a beautiful wedding setting and they didn’t let us down for Rachel and James’ day! Rachel and James picked River Creek Lodge in Stony Point, NC as their wedding venue. The girls got ready in a house up the mountain and then made their way down to the barn for pictures. The ceremony was held outside the barn overlooking the water and the reception was close by under a pavilion. Some of my favorite moments were Rachel’s bridesmaids praying over her and then Rachel and James praying together around a doorway before the ceremony. Both moments were so special! James and Rachel were so emotional seeing each other for the ceremony (it’s hard to take pictures when you’re tearing up behind the camera!). My favorite part of a wedding will always be the first time the couple sees each other on their day. After the ceremony we took photos around parts of the property, including a small dock out on the water. I also loved the details of their day! Lovely florals, burlap, mason jars, lace doilies, large wooden spools, and cute chalkboards made the ceremony and reception feel rustic and charming. Also, guests could play outdoor games, enjoy a photo booth, dance, or warm up by the cozy fireplace and the favors they received were adorable jars of jam. (How cute right?!) It was a lovely day for a lovely couple!

Amy & John | Blowing Rock NC

My husband and I met Amy and John through mutual friends and we were so excited when they asked us to shoot their wedding! I absolutely love getting to capture friend's weddings! Amy and John got married at Chetola in Blowing Rock NC. The original plan was for the ceremony to take place under a large willow tree on the property but the weather did not cooperate. Despite the rain, Amy and John had a beautiful ceremony indoors and they were so great about going outside for pictures even though it was so wet! A rainy day doesn't have to be a damper on your day. You can still get great photos and work with the weather! We got to take some adorable photos with umbrellas and the rain gave the pictures a romantic, cozy feel. The reception took place in a tent on the property and I loved the rustic details put together by The Whole Shebang. Complete with a photo booth, cute honey favors, and lots of dancing, the reception was filled with fun! Amy and John, we are so glad we could be a part of your day and that we get to continue to enjoy your friendship!

Kimberly & Dustin | Monroe NC

Kimberly and Dustin were married at The Cotton Gin in Monroe, NC right outside of Charlotte. I loved this venue so much! The outdoor ceremony spot was adorable with bench and tree stump seating. The barn for the reception was a great space and there was also an endless supply of locations around the venue for pictures! The vintage style of Kimberly & Dustin's wedding was perfect for this venue. I loved Kimberly's bright teal shoes, her lace dress, and simple pearls. Dustin also looked great in a vest and teal bowtie (I always give two thumbs up to bowties). This couple was so sweet and had so many special moments throughout their day. The two that stick out to me were 1) holding hands on either side of the door right before their ceremony 2) Kimberly has a lock tattoo on her wrist and Dustin had every guest put a temporary key tattoo on their wrists (including himself) to show her during the ceremony. After pictures in a corn field and vintage train, the reception included a bonfire for roasting s'mores, great dance movies, and a fun bubble exit! This was a fun, vintage wedding and I'm honored I got to capture it for Kimberly and Dustin :)
