February Wedding at 1932 Barn | Charlotte NC | Andrew & Hannah

You never know what kind of weather you're going to get in February! Even though the day was chilly and rainy, Andrew and Hannah radiated a warmth of excitement and joy for their wedding! Everything took place at 1932 Barn, one of my favorite venues! Hannah and her girls got their hair and makeup done while dancing to a playlist in the bridal suite. Hannah even showed me her wedding day chucks and ankle fit bit holder so that she could get the most out of reception dancing haha! Meanwhile, Andrew was getting ready with his guys in an adjacent room. Both Andrew and Hannah got each other wedding day gifts and there was a lot of emotion as they were opened in their separate rooms. Since it was raining, the ceremony took place inside another area of the barn. It was so romantic and cozy inside! I LOVED the floral arbor for the ceremony altar. After the ceremony, we braved the heavy mist for photos - Andrew and Hannah were so willing to get a little wet and it made for some amazing photos! Plus, who doesn't love some fun umbrella shots? After entering the reception, they went right into their special dances. Hannah even had an extra special dance with her grandpa that was so sweet. The rest of the night was filled with cake, toasts, and a packed dance floor! To top it all off, Andrew and Hannah ran through a line of sparklers and into a special rental car to drive off into the night. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Furr!

Virginia State Park Wedding | Chester VA | Nichole + Josh

Have I mentioned that friend weddings are my favorite to shoot? I love seeing old friends and getting to capture such important moments for them. I went to college with Nichole (and actually three of her bridesmaids as well!). Nichole started dating Josh after my husband and I moved to Charlotte so I didn't get to meet him until the wedding day but as soon as I did I knew he was perfect for Nichole! These two have been going through medical school for the past 4 years and are finally finishing up their degrees this spring (now as a married couple!). This accomplishment added to their joy and the whole day they were non-stop smiling and adorable together. Their ceremony took place at a local church and then they held their reception at Swift Creek Banquet Hall. Decorated with greenery, candles, a warm fireplace, and rustic touches, the decor fit them perfectly. Some of my favorite details were donuts for dessert, a custom coffee bar, and their favors which were mugs with a personalized logo on them! The dance floor was one of the most packed I've seen and the floor was even shaking from their guests busting their moves. Filled with sweet moments and lots of laughter, their day was special from beginning to end. Congratulations Nichole and Josh!

New Years Day Wedding | Hickory NC | Suzanne & Jeff

I met Suzanne when I photographed her best friend Sarah's wedding in fall 2016. When she contacted me about doing her wedding as well, I was so excited! Jeff and Suzanne chose Harper House as the venue for their small intimate wedding on New Years Day. They got ready with their family and friends, including Jeff's daughter Piper who Suzanne is now a mommy to! Their joy radiated throughout the ceremony and the rest of the day. It was about 30 degrees outside so Suzanne wrapped herself in a fur and we quickly took some photos! Braving the cold was definitely worth it because these two are ADORABLE. My other favorite part of their wedding was that they had a brunch reception! Everyone loves brunch and it's something unique and different to do on your wedding day. After toasts and some special dances, Jeff, Suzanne, and Piper exited through bubbles to their car. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Mayo!
