Rachel Bridals | Fort Mill SC

We did Rachel & James' engagement session at Anne Springs so we went back for Rachel's bridal as well! A few tips for bridal sessions: 1) Bring your mom or a bridesmaid to help with your dress 2) Bring a bouquet with you for the photos 3) Don't be afraid to show your confidence and beauty! 4) Choose a photographer who makes you comfortable enough to have fun and laugh and that will translate into your photos 5) This is a great time to make final decisions about your hair, makeup, and shoes for your big day! Have fun and enjoy feeling beautiful!

Rachel & James Engagement | Fort Mill SC

Anne Springs Greenway is one of my favorite places to shoot. Combine that with fall colors and I'm in heaven. There are so many different areas on the property to explore and the way the lake reflects all the trees is something I never get tired of looking at. Rachel and James were having a more rustic wedding so this session location fit perfectly. I already blogged Rachel and James' wedding and be on the lookout for Rachel's bridal portraits soon too!

Ashby Family Session | Fort Mill SC

I had the pleasure of shooting Amy and John's wedding in the fall- you can view it here! Before their wedding we did a fun, summer family session to celebrate them becoming a family. We walked around the peach orchard, played under the trees, and soaked in the summer golden hour sun. They even brought their little dog, Willie, who ran around our feet and ate sticks while we took photos :)

Britt & Steve Engagement | Greensboro NC

I went to school with Britt and Steve and was so honored when they asked me to capture their engagement session and their wedding (you can view their wedding here). We met at the Greenboro Arboretum and from the first photo these two were adorable. Everything was in bloom and it was a gorgeous summer evening for the session. This was one of my favorite sessions of the summer!

Katharine Bridals | Belmont NC

I met Katharine through my husband Joe. One of his best friends was dating her when we moved to Charlotte. We got to be a part of their engagement and wedding and now are close friends! Our pups are even best friends :) We did Katharine's bridals at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden which is also where they got married. I love this venue and Katharine looked gorgeous!

Amy Bridal Portraits | Anne Springs Close Greenway

One of the hardest parts of being a photographer is taking photos and not being able to show them! I love doing bridal portraits but I always have to wait until the wedding happens to share them with all of you :) We did Amy's bridal portraits in April and she was SO stunning. I love when I have brides that every little thing they do is elegant and makes for beautiful photos and Amy was one of those brides! Anne Springs Close Greenway provided the perfect backdrop for her bridal session and we had some yummy lighting to match. Just take a look at how beautiful she is!

Kristin & Eric | Fort Mill Engagement

When I first sat down for coffee with Kristin and Eric, I knew they were going to be a fun couple! They love to have a good time with each other whether its hanging out at home, attending a sporting event, or being out with friends. I wanted to convey all of those things in their photos! We stopped at a baseball field, an orchard, and downtown Fort Mill to get all of their lovely shots and it was so much fun!

Grace & Ben | Reynolda Garden Engagement

It overwhelms me to think about all the things that had to happen and the people that led to me meeting my husband. Grace & Ben feel the same way about each other and part of their story is how they met in the perfect timing. Reynolda Garden gave us a beautiful backdrop and the lighting that night was GORGEOUS. These two just oozed love and were so precious together the whole session. Enjoy looking through part of their story :)

A Spring Engagement | Rock Hill, SC

This early spring engagement was filled with flowers and love! Samantha and David picked Glencairn Gardens in Rock Hill for their session and it was beautiful! We had lots of yummy light and green all around. These two were such a joy to work with and I can't wait for their wedding in August! :)

Baby Raelynn

Well if this isn't the cutest baby! Despite the fact that I knelt down in the middle of an ant hill (and still have bite marks on my knee), I had so much fun taking photos of little Raelynn in so many adorable outfits! Raelynn's mom, Maria, wanted some 4th of July photos and we sure did get some cute ones! Tomorrow on the blog, I'll be showing you how I made the rustic, wooden flag background!

Knit Together {Pregnancy Session}

Abbie and Grant are probably THE most precious couple I know! I've known Abbie for most of my life and Grant for about 4 years {since he came into Abbie's life!} I attended their wedding {not yet at my photography business stage of life} and have had some wonderful times with them and my hubby. When I found out they were pregnant, I could not wait to do some photos with them! You might recognize them from the UP baby shoot I did this past summer (which you can view some photos of on my website: Paper Heart Photography). I took those right in the beginning of Abbie's pregnancy. Over Christmas, I had the opportunity to take some maternity photos of Abbie with her beautiful pregnant belly. Abbie really loved the idea of incorporating knitting into the session. The idea of the Lord knitting each one of us together is so special and one that I love! We had fun getting some shots and wrapping her in yarn :). So, enjoy these precious photos of this soon to be mama {due in February!}

Fall Lynchburg Session

My dear friend, Miss Nichole, and I decided to take advantage of the last changing colors of fall and just have a fun shoot together. It was the perfect fall day and we enjoyed playing in the leaves and getting chased by dogs :)

Southern Belle Senior Shoot {Lynchburg}

 When Morgan described herself as somewhat of a southern belle and a lover of theater and Beauty and the Beast, I knew that this styled shoot would fit her perfectly! I had so much fun planning everything and Morgan's outfit was so fittingly Belle. The beginning of fall and some beautiful golden sunlight made this session a lovely southern version of Beauty and the Beast!

You Really Are Fantastic {Lynchburg}

Gerry and Juliette did us the honor of traveling here, to Lynchburg VA, for their engagement shoot! They love the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox and are fun and quirky themselves. I pulled inspiration from the movie and book and put together this little fox tree for them. We had lots of fun together and grabbed some Mexican dinner afterwards! I can't wait to shoot their backyard wedding in June :)

Chase the Light {Part 2 Lynchburg}

 This is the second bit of homework I did for the wedding photography class I'm taking. I went out with two lovely ladies, Heather and Kelsey, and we just had fun taking some photos! These were taken during the middle of the day (I normally don't shoot then), to get some practice for when I need to deal with different wedding day lighting!

Chase the Light {Part 1 Lynchburg}

 I am taking a photography class from some of my favorite photographers, Sassyfras Studios! Our homework assignment this week was to take photos in different types of lighting. On Thursday, I set out with my hubby for a picnic and started my homework while I was there. These photos were taken around 5pm and I used some glorious backlighting!

Take Me Somewhere Nice {Lynchburg}

My good friend, Lauren, and I have wanted to do a fun shoot for awhile. We finally found some time to do one and it was just lovely! We went with a travel theme and found a great little park to shoot at. Lauren is so photogenic and looks beautiful in EVERY single photo. Enjoy!

Life in the Pennsylvania Country

 I was so excited about this last minute shoot before I left PA last week because Julia was so excited! Julia and her husband Erick have 2 adorable children, Lydia and Waylen. They live closer to the country area of Williamsport so we were able to shoot in the incredible field in front of their house. We had a ton of fun and found some beautiful lighting!
